Problem

Having created a Cell Library containing working Parametric model(s) with Variations, when placing these Models as Cells into a Design the Variations cannot be selected at time of placement.

Solution

In order for the Models Parametric Variations to be available when being placed as a cell it has to be placed as a Parametric Cell.

To make the Cell a Parametric Cell:

• Open the Cell Library dialog (Drawing > Annotate > Cells) and attach the Cell Library containing the Cells if not already open.

            (Note in the Cell Library Dialog against the Name of the cell its Type if 'Graphic' or 'Point' then the Cell will need to be edited)

           

• Right click on the Cell to be edited in the Cell Library dialog and select ' Open for Editing ', at this point the Cell Library will open with the active Model of the cell.

           

• Open the Models Dialog (Drawing > Primary > Models) and right click on the on the Cell Name to be edited and Select 'Properties'.

            

• In the Properties Dialog scroll down to the section titled ' Cell ' and change the 'Cell Type' to Parametric

           

• Return to the Design and attach the Cell Library containing the Cells, not the Type should now be 'Parametric' and when placed the Tool Settings dialog will be titled ' Place Parametric Cell ' and the Variations will be available.

          

           Note: If the variables / variations are still not available then see the wiki below as these may be hidden.
