OpenTunnel Designer has an extensive library of templates for conventional and mechanized tunnels, portals, shafts, and rooms as well as material definitions and excavation tracks. The users can find the templates in the Catalogs groups, as listed below, and can modify or create their own library elements.

- Portal: Draw and Tag each portal Closed shape and Excavation.
- Shafts: Specify each Shaft section by its Diameter, Thickness, Length, and Slab thickness.
