Problem

MS_BACKUP defaults now to the out directory, why? In Microstation /J by default it was undefined. Why has this change?

Solution

In MicroStation V8 the Save as feature uses the MS_BACKUP variable to create the Microstation V8 format files. Since the backup feature also uses this variable it is also directed to the out directory as that is the default defined location now.
