Yes. When one chooses ASD as the analysis option when using DIRECT ANALYSIS, STAAD automatically factors the applied loads by 1.6 and the results are divided by 1.6. To choose the ASD method of DIRECT ANALYSIS, one can either enter the following command in the input editor

PERFORM DIRECT ANALYSIS ASD

or one can choose the option as shown next using the GUI
