How To Display Classic Toolbars In MicroStation CONNECT Edition

 Product:MicroStation
 Version:10.13.01.01
 Environment:N\A
 Area:Configuration
 Subarea:Workspace

Ultimately require MicroStation CONNECT Edition to display the classic toolbars so it looks the same as it would within MicroStation V8 2004 Edition.

Background

Prior to the release of MicroStation V8 XM Edition and V8i there were default toolbars displayed like Main, Standards, Attributes toolbars. If you want to display these in MicroStation CONNECT Edition this can be achieved quite easily.

Steps to Accomplish

Within MicroStation V8 2004 Edition we had by default the Main toolbar docked in the left area of the application window and the Standards, Attributes and Primary Tools toolbars docked at the top.

All of these are available in the Tool Boxes area of MicroStation CONNECT Edition which can be located under the menu:

> File > Settings > Tool Boxes

If you select each of these to display you can dock them into the same areas of the application window. First you would need to minimize the Ribbon which can be achieved by clicking on the up arrow in the top right corner.

After you have docked these old toolbars and minimized the ribbon you should achieve a look something like the following.

The main item that may be of concern is that many of the Drawing tools have been separated from the Main toolbar due to the changes in defining these in the Tasks menu system. You will need to also display the Tasks toolbar below the Main toolbar to get the same look as in the old Main toolbar.
