General Information

TeamViewer is a very popular remote access, remote control and remote support solution which can be installed on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Chrome. In addition, there are client apps for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. TeamViewer is a fast and secure all-in-one solution for gaining access to computers remotely.

Installation

The Installation of TeamViewer Remote Desktop is very simple. Setup files for the same can be downloaded from the following :

Run setup file downloaded on host and the Client machine. An installation wizard will guide you through the installation process.

Adding Lab

1. On the Host machine, it is recommended to choose "Custom installation - with unattended access support"

2. Click Accept - Next

3. Click Next on following UI popup:

(Within the Unattended access dialog windows, you can configure TeamViewer to automatically start along with Windows (system service), assign the device to your account and choose a personal password. You will then be able to access your computer anytime via TeamViewer)


 

4. Click Next

5. Select relevant option and click Next

ID is generated and the installation process is complete.

Use default installation process to install TeamViewer on client machine

On the Clients Machine, once the installation process is complete, you will then be taken to the main TeamViewer interface, which is divided up into two tabs: Remote Control and Meeting.

Here, you will find your TeamViewer ID and your temporary password, which you can change at any point. With this information, you can allow a partner remote control of your computer.

In order to do this in reverse and control another computer remotely, you simply enter the partner computer ID (the ID generated on host machine) and choose between various connection modes such as remote control, file transfer or VPN.

To connect with a partner for a remote control session, follow these steps:

  1. Open up TeamViewer.  
  2. Click the Remote Control tab.  
  3. Enter your host ID in the Partner ID combo box.  
  4. Click the Remote Control option button.  
  5. Click the Connect button.   The TeamViewer Authentication dialog box will open.
  6. Enter the password of the remote computer.  
  7. Click Sign In.  

You are now connected to your partner’s computer.

Once Connected to the Host machine, you can use MicroStation which is installed..

There are options to configure the Screen Resolution, number of Screen, and also choose between Quality vs. Speed
