Problem

Dimension style in ACAD will take on bylevel weight for dim text, but not in V8.

Solution

Dimension style in ACAD has dim lines set to line weight of 0, but the bylayer setting is set to weight 2.

Place a dimension in ACAD and dim text takes on the bylayer weight setting.

Use the same style to place a dimension in V8 and the dim text has the same weight as the dim line setting.

To force it to use the bylevel weight setting for the dim text, key-in DIMENSION TEXT WEIGHT BYLEVEL.

All dimensions placed will now take on the bylevel weight setting for dim text only.

All existing dimensions will have to be updated with the Change Dimension tool.
