As an end user at my organization, I need to quickly create custom toolboxes that contain my frequently used commands while drawing in MicroStation CONNECT. I would like to avoid altering my organization's existing configuration/standards and require the changes to be made on my machine only.
Open the file "Personal.dgnlib" with MicroStation CONNECT. By default, this .dgnlib should will located at the following pathway:
C:\Users\<user.name>\AppData\Local\Bentley\MicroStation\10.0.0\prefs\Personal.dgnlib
You can tell if you are in the correct file by looking at the top of the MicroStation CONNECT interface:
Within this file, navigate to File>Settings>User>Tool Boxes>Customize
Expand "User Tools" and select "Personal.dgnlib" within the selection tree.
Select "New Tool Box" and name the new toolbox as desired.
With the new tool box selected, select "New Tool". Name this new tool as desired. Create as many tool boxes and tools as needed.
Note, in the Properties section, you can edit the key-in, balloon text, icons, etc. for each custom tool.
After you have configured your new tool boxes and tools, you should be left with a toolbox/tool structure that is attached to your Personal.dgnlib similarly to the following:
***HINT*** You can also copy/paste existing tool boxes and tools into the Personal.dgnlib from other .dgnlib files or existing toolboxes/tools that come with MicroStation CONNECT.
Save the changes made in the Personal.dgnlib and then close MicroStation.
Now open MicroStation again. This time open one of your drawings and press CTRL+T. Locate the new Tool Box you recently created within the list of available Tool Boxes.
Select it and press OK.
You should now have access to your new toolbox/tools that were created in the Personal.dgnlib. Be sure to save settings (CTRL+F) before exiting to keep these customizations in future sessions of MicroStation CONNECT.
An alternative workflow would be to create a new DGNLIB file and add its pathway to the MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST variable definition through the Configuration Variables dialog. Configuring a variable from the Configuration Variables dialog will only affect the end user (written to Personal.ucf file)
