Problem

How to get underscore working either as data field or as an underscore in the same model.

Solution

If you go to Workspace > Preferences > Text > ED Character and change that to any character you are not going to use (for example a Q character).

Then enter the text you wish.

And if we then change the ED Character back to underscore, the underscores we entered when the ED Char was still Q remain as underscores. If we would have entered a Q during the time when it was the ED Char, this would display as the character currently set as ED Char when Data Field display is on.
