Problem

While in a MicroStation v8i configuration file (UCF, PCF, CFG, etc.), I am attempting to define a configuration variable to point to a file or pathway that contains a double space.
For instance, in the below untitled.ucf file, the MS_BACKUP defined pathway contains a double space.

Upon looking at the workspace configuration variable summary (Workspace>Configuration), the defined pathway has reverted back to a single space which does not read the actual pathway properly.

Solution

This issue only occurs in MicroStation v8i.
Upgrading product versions to MicroStation CONNECT Edition will resolve the issue and allow MicroStation to read double spaces within configuration variable definitions.
