Attach the same reference into a model multiple times at different scales but keep the size of the text in the reference the same size
Background
After designing a project within a Design Model it would be required to reference this design in a Sheet Model for output. To present the project in the best manner the Design Model could be referenced into the Sheet Model a number of times at different scales. However, in doing this, the text from the Design Model also scales displaying it a different size with each reference. This may conflict with drawing standards. Is it possible to display the text at one size throughout the sheet no matter what scale it has been referenced at?
Steps to Accomplish
Using an Annotation Scale may be a solution for this type of issue
- When placing the text in the Design Model ensure the Annotation Scale Lock is turned on.
- Alternatively, if text is already placed, it can be selected using Element Selection tool and then 'Is Annotation' option turned on using Element Information dialog
- Or, the Annontation Scale Lock can be applied using the Change Text Attributes tool
- In the Sheet Model, when attaching the Reference at different scales, ensure the Toggle 'Use Active Annotation Scale' is turned on (This can also be turned on or off in the References dialog)
- Text is now displayed at the same size in different references set at different reference scales
