Having created Text Favorites how can these be made available to other design files
Whilst Text Favorites can be created and stored in a design file (*.dgn), they are only available to that file. The Text Favorites could be created and stored in a seed file, thus any new files created based on that seed file, will also contain the same Text Favorites. However, these will not be available to existing design files and not updated should additions or changes be made.
Alternatively the Text Favorites can be stored in a Design Libarary (*.dgnlib) file and this *.dgnlib can be configured at the required level, thus making them available to all design files, or may be just for a specific WorkSpace or WorkSet.
Place the Design Library (*.dgnlib) containing the Text Favorites in the appropriate folder. For example, to make the Text Favorites available to all designs in the Organization consider storing at Organizational Level
(Default path - C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Organization\Dgnlib\)
Or to make the Text Favorites available to all designs within a particular WorkSpace
(Default Path - C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Example\Standards\DgnLib)
Alternatively change the configuration variable MS_DGNLIBLIST or MS_DGNLIBLIST_TEXTFAVORITES to point to the *,dgnlib file containing the Text Favorites.
