Background
There are times when MicroStation might need to repaired or perhaps a component that was not initially installed may need to be added.
Previously MicroStation V8i could be repaired or modified from "Program and Features" in Control Panel. Changes to the Windows Installer used by CONNECT Edition products mean that the repair option is no longer available from either the Control Panel > Programs and Features or from Windows 10/11 Apps settings. Both now offer only Modify or Uninstall:
The repair option is available directly from the installer files.
Steps to Accomplish
Run Setup or installer file for MicroStation CONNECT
- Find the location where Setup_MicroStationx64_2x.xx.00.xx.exe file is located(the location of these files should be known to your support team or for individual users may be in the user's Downloads folder).
- Run the setup/installer file by double-clicking it.
- Select "Repair" or "Modify" option:
For Repair the options are:
You can now repair individual components of the installation. Select item you would like to repair.
For Modify the options are first to add Companion Features (if required) (1) and then to click Configure (2):
To changed installed Features:
If you did not install something initially, e.g. the Example Workspace or Product documentation, it can now be added
