Rotate an element to View window X axis without Accudraw rotating to align with element
Background
When using the Rotate tool (using 3 points Method), after accepting the point of rotation, Accudraw rotates to align with the element to be rotated (as shown in video 1). To have Accudraw remain stationary for this operation, the Context Sensitivity can be disabled.
Steps to Accomplish
- Set Accudraw so that it is aligned with the View Window
- Go to the menu file > Settings > Accudraw
- Select the Coordinates tab, change the Rotation option to View
- To stop Accudraw aligning with the elements, go to the Operation tab
- Turn off the Context Sensitivity option
- To rotate the element, select the Rotate tool
- Set the Method to 3 points
- Select the element in the view and click on a point to rotate the element about
- Enter second point to define start of rotation (Accudraw should remain aligned with View axis)
- Rotate the element to the View X axis - See video 2 showing this
