Problem

How to limit the MicroStation V8 design plane to the size of the V7 design plane, prevent placement of elements off the edge of the V7 design plane and how to prevent elements from shifting and the global origin from changing when saving to V7 format.

Solution

This capability can be defined in MicroStation V8 2004 Edition and above within your User or Project configuration file using the following:

_USTN_CAPABILITY = -CAPABILITY_LARGE_DESIGN_PLANE
