How to create a Surface Mesh of a Tunnel from Point Cloud data
Background
Having received a dgn model containing Point data captured during a survey of an existing tunnel, user would like to create a Surface Mesh from this data for further modelling and visualization.
Existing Point Data
Steps to Accomplish
- Open the DGN containing the Point data
- Using Element Section select the existing survey Point elements
- From the Modelling Workflow select the Mesh tab followed by the Mesh From Points tool.
- In the Tool Settings dialog, set the Direction to Tunnel
- Optional: In the Tool Settings dialog check the 'Keep Original' to retain the Point elements
- In the View enter a Data Point (Left Mouse button) to except the selected points
- Move the cursor in the direction of the Tunnel and enter another Data Point
