Problem

I wish to offset the top edge of the left-hand face downwards to form the base of the handrail that sits on the top of the  existing solid, which is the side of an escalator..

Solution

  1. Keyin “dialog toolbox legacysolid”
  2. Use “Draw on Solids” tool from toolbox.
  3. Select the Draw on Solid tool.
  4. Select the Offset Edges icon.
  5. Select Method >Edges.
  6. Type in a value for the offset Distance.
  7. Select the target solid.
  8. Select a face or an edge. The edge loop becomes highlighted, and AccuDraw is oriented perpendicular to the selected edge (or nearest edge to selection point on a face).
  9. Move AccuDraw slightly to select the offset direction (inside or outside).
  10. To select additional edges, use “Ctrl” key to add and continue to the final edge of the solid.
