Problem

How to Troubleshoot shortcuts and mouse button mapping issues.

Background

Some wireless mice and keyboards drivers can conflict with MicroStation shortcuts and mouse button management and cause issues similar to the one described above.

Also some advanced mouse and keyboard management software, such as Microsoft IntelliPoint or Logitech MouseWare, can conflict with MicroStation shortcuts and mouse button management.

This can also occur when using a wireless radio mouse and keyboard set with standard Windows XP drivers (5.1.2600, year 2001).

Example:

The axis lock gets turned on without pressing any keyboard key, generally after panning using the mouse middle button with Accudraw enabled.

The issue could occur when starting a new drawing/manipulating command after panning, as described above, with Accudraw activated.

Steps to Troubleshoot

1. Updating the wireless mouse/keyboard drivers to latest version released by manufacturer can solve the issue.

2. Uninstalling additional 3rd party mouse and keyboard management software, such as Microsoft IntelliPoint or Logitech MouseWare, can resolve the issue.

3. Using USB wired mouse and keyboard resolves the issue.
