The "General" Workflow

The Situation
Are you familiar with AutoCAD but new to MicroStation? Would it be helpful to make the MicroStation interface look similar to what you are used to?

Solution

Display MicroStation similar to AutoCAD using the “General” workflow.

If you are new to MicroStation but familiar with AutoCAD, you can make the MicroStation interface appear much the same as that of AutoCAD by using the General workflow. When this workflow is active, the tabs in the ribbon are renamed and tools rearranged providing a user experience that closely resembles what an AutoCAD user is used to.

Activating the “General” workflow:

  1. In the ribbon interface, go to the Workflow drop-down menu (next to the Quick Access Toolbar).
  2. Pick General.
  3. Observe the update to the user interface.

Hint: The General workflow also works well when paired with the “Dark Theme” in the MicroStation CONNECT Edition.
