Adjust Click Sensitivity in MicroStation

Problem

Sometimes, we receive issues where a user is having issues with their mouse "double-clicking" elements, or they are having a hard time selecting things within MicroStation with the Element Selection tool.
These extraneous clicks or lack thereof is impacting almost every workflow in MicroStation and it is difficult to get work done.

Solution

Before you start searching for another mouse to use, try looking through some of the settings contained within MicroStation.
Many of the settings that control the operation of MicroStation are found in the User Preferences area.
Adjusting Click Sensitivity, in particular, is a good setting to try. It will adjust how aggressively clicks are interpreted as drag operations versus data points.
You can find this setting via File>Settings>User>Preferences>Input category
From here, you can change the Click Sensitivity as desired to Normal, Slow, Fast, or Pen
The default setting is Normal.

Here is a brief overview of the different options:

Normal - Default setting
Fast - speaks for itself
Slow - This is the optimal choice for usage with tablet devices. With tablet devices, sometimes a click is interpreted as a click and drag, which causes an extra data point to be placed. Using this setting eliminates this problem.
Pen - This is the optimal choice for usage with pen input devices because the product most aggressively interprets input as drag moves

After this is changed to the desired setting, press OK and go back to the main MicroStation interface and Save Settings (CTRL+f).
Then fully close and reopen MicroStation for the changes to take effect.
