Problem

How can you create Annotation cells In MicroStation V8 XM Edition / V8i (Select Series) / CONNECT Edition?

Solution

Annotation cells can be created:

In V8i:

1. Go to File > Models
2. Select a model and click the Properties icon > Model Properties dialog opens
3. There are two options, "Can be placed as a cell" and "Can be placed as an annotation cell".
   If both of these are checked the model can then be placed as a cell and as an annotation cell.

If the cell library is attached the cell will be marked as an annotation cell in the annotation column.

In Connect Edition:

1. Drawing workflow > Home > Models
2. Select a model and click the Properties icon > Model Properties dialog opens
3. Under the section Cell there are two options, "Can be placed as a cell" and "Can be placed as an annotation cell".
   If both of these are checked the model can then be placed as a cell and as an annotation cell.

If the cell library is attached the cell will be marked as an annotation cell in the annotation column.
