What is the syntax for changing the Working Units of my design files via key-in?
The syntax for this key-in is set units [master unit] [sub unit]
For example: set units meter millimeter would change your master units to Meters and your Sub Units to Millimeters.
Here are some things to keep in mind when using this key-in:
- Both [master unit] and [sub unit] should be the name of a known unit.
- Upper or lower case characters can be used.
- The unit syntax can be Singular or Plural (i.e. meter or meters)
- If only a master unit is defined, the sub-unit will be the same unit as the master unit
- Quotation marks are needed if the unit name has spaces in it. For example, set units "US Survey Feet" "US Survey Inches"
Here is the common syntax for each default unit of measure:
Unit | Key-In Syntax |
Nautical Miles | "nautical miles" |
Kilometers | kilometers |
Hectometers |
hectometers |
Meters | meters |
Centimeters | centimeters |
Millimeters | millimeters |
Micrometers | micrometers |
Miles | miles |
Yards | yards |
Feet | feet |
Inches | inches |
Mils | mils |
MicroInches | microinches |
US Survey Miles | "us survey miles" |
US Survey Feet | "us survey feet" |
US Survey Inches | "us survey inches" |
