Before calculation of a model, we have to generate a finite element mesh of the model. This video explains the basic knowledge for generating meshes.

Notes

• since parametric geometry is used in the most recent versions of PLAXIS 3D, the expert settings are solely defined in terms of relative element size (or, alternatively, element dimension);
• for dynamic analysis, additional requirements may be required to find an appropriate mesh to the problem.
