Need to print to PDF with custom settings such as custom Paper Sizes, Default Print File Names, Print Quality,
How can this be accomplished? Also, how can these settings be readily available for future print jobs?
1. Open Windows File Explorer
2. Navigate to directory:
(MicroStation CONNECT)
C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\Default\pltcfg
-or-
(MicroStation 2023)
C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation 2023\MicroStation\Default\pltcfg
3. Copy the pdf.pltcfg file located here and paste in another directory where you have read/write access
4. Open MicroStation and open design file
5. File > Print > Print
6. In Print dialog, File > Select Printer Driver Configuration
7. Select the copied version of the pdf.pltcfg from Step 3 and Open
8. Back in Print dialog > File > Edit Printer Driver Configuration
9. In Printer Driver Configuration dialog, change the settings as necessary and then File > Save. Close out of the dialog.
10. Back in Print dialog > File > Reload Printer Driver Configuration. The custom settings that were defined should now be applied.
***NOTE***
Configuration variable MS_DEFAULT_PLTCFG_FILE can be used to automatically load a specific .pltcfg file when opening the Print dialog.
