How to include links to saved views belonging to the current project or related to other projects during PDF printing?
Background
MicroStation allows links from files, Key-Ins or URLs to be integrated into the project.
Some of these links (including saved views) can be included in the files created during the MicroStation PDF printing process.
Steps to Accomplish
1 - Create one or more saved views:
Design->View-> Saved Views-> Create Saved Views
Saved views can be part on the current project or come from other projects
2 - Attach the saved view:
Right-click on the wording/element where the saved view need to be assigned->Add link.
From the displayed window, select 'From File' as the Type and by clicking on the three dots icon select the file where the saved view is located.
Expand the drop-down menu of the model that includes the saved view-> Select saved view -> OK.
3 - PDF creation via Print Organiser:
Open the Print Organiser-> Add Files to Set-> Select all files involved in the links-> Add
Select the "Manually Specified Options" command from the Create Print Definitions window. From the "Fence" tab, select the "All Models" option from the drop-down menu to include all Models in the PDF printout.
Define the print area and view from the 'Main' tab and press OK
File -> Print
The created PDF document will include links to the saved views and their models (also converted to PDF format).
