Problem Description

There are various unused Line Styles, Dimension Styles, Text Styles etc that are wanting to be removed from a Design Library (DGNLIB). When using the Compress Options tools an error message is displaying in the Message Centre "File is DGNLIB; some data not compressed".

 

Resolution

Since the release of MicroStation V8 XM Edition the ability for the Compress Options tools to purge unused data resources within Design Libraries (DGNLIB) has been removed. It is suggested to use the DELETE UNUSED key-ins to perform this operation.

Key in DELETE UNUSED LINESTYLES to delete ALL unused line styles.
or
Key in DELETE UNUSED LINESTYLES <StyleName> to delete a specific unused line style.

Key in DELETE UNUSED DIMSTYLES to delete ALL unused dimension styles.
or
Key in DELETE UNUSED DIMSTYLES <StyleName> to delete a specific unused dimension style.

Key in DELETE UNUSED TEXTSTYLES to delete ALL unused text styles.
or
Key in DELETE UNUSED TEXTSTYLES <StyleName> to delete a specific unused text style.

Key in DELETE UNUSED LEVELS to delete ALL unused levels.
or
Key in DELETE UNUSED LEVELS <LevelName> to delete a specific unused level.

Key in DELETE UNUSED LEVELTABLES to delete ALL unused nested attachment levels.
or
Key in DELETE UNUSED LEVELTABLES <LevelName> to delete a specific unused nested attachment level.
