The Assets page is the first page users will see after logging into the iTwin IoT application. The page will function as an entry point to all the assets, or projects, the user has created or been granted access to view. It is also where the user would be able to "Register Asset", which creates a new project.
On the upper right corner of the Assets window, the user can select a dropdown to toggle between a Tile View and a Map View. This section of the article will provide an overview of the navigation option available within each view.
Select "Tile View" from the dropdown. The resulting page layout will look similar to the page illustrated below. Clicking on an asset tile within Favorites or Recent or clicking on the asset Display Name from the List Area of the Tile View will direct the user to the Asset Home Page.
Users can store up to 4 projects as their favorites on this page. Users can select an asset to display on the Favorites bar in one of two ways:
1. Tile Favorite Symbol- Use the star indicator on the top right corner of a tile to select or deselect the asset as a favorite.
2. List Favorite Symbol- Select or deselect the Star icon next to the asset within the List Area.
The 4 most recent projects the user has accessed will appear in the Recent bar, with the most recently accessed projects appearing in order from left to right.
This area will allow the user to view all accessible projects in a tabular format.
Columns- Information including the name of the project, date of registration, and the geo-coordinates of the project are displayed in the List columns.
Search- Users are also able to search for the project they wish to access in the search box in the top right corner. This query feature only searches the Display Name.
Page Selection- If the number of projects exceeds the number of rows allotted, users can select the page to navigate to additional projects.
Row Count Configuration- The number of projects displayed on a single page can be adjusted using the drop-down at the bottom right, with the default option including 10, 25, and 50 projects.
Select "Map View" from the dropdown. The resulting page view will include a map projection with an assets icon location based on their configured coordinates.
Navigation- Base map layer selection, click to zoom in/out, and zoom to current location options are available in the upper right portion of the map projection. UI inputs including scroll to zoom and click to drag view apply to map navigation.
Asset Selection- Clicking on the asset icon within the map projection will direct the user to the Asset Home Page
Users with the correct administrative privileges can create new assets. Clicking on the "Register Asset" icon in the upper right corner of the Asset Page will bring the user to the "Register asset" page illustrated in the section below. This page allows the user to add an additional project to their organization.
Note: A list of user privilege's can be found within the Organization and Asset Level User Role Descriptions article.
1. Asset Name- The user is required to input a name for the new asset.
2. Location Input- The user is required to input coordinates for the new asset. These coordinates must be defined by the Asset extent window on the right side of the Register asset window. Coordinates will be automatically set based on the center point of the area selected. The navigation and tools of the configuration window will be reviewed below.
3. Cover Photo- Users can elect to upload a picture representing the asset. This image will replace the default placeholder image illustrated above. The image must be in jpeg, .jpg, .or png. format and can not exceed 5MB in size.
4. Time Zone- Users can select the time zone of the asset.
Note: This time zone selection does not impact any settings within the Asset at this time.
5. Data Center Location- Users can select the location of the Data Center.
Note: This time zone selection does not impact any settings within the Asset at this time.
6. Team member Management- If the user wishes to be able to invite members outside of the organization to the project being created, the "Allow external team members" box should be checked.
