iTwin IoT Navigation Basics


Overview

When navigating through iTwin IoT modules, the navigation and options bar will be visible along the top of the page, and the module navigation and Configure button will be visible along the left side of the page. This article will review the options available on these navigation bars.

 

 

1. iTwin IoT Icon- Clicking on the "iTwin IoT" logo will bring the user to the Assets Overview page.

2. Asset Selection- The Asset Selection dropdown allows the user to quickly navigate to recently visited assets, directs the user back to the Asset Overview page if clicking "All Assets", or allows the user to create a new Asset by clicking "Add new Asset".

 

 

3. Weather Widget- Provides weather information based on the latitude and longitude coordinates of the selected asset.

4. Asset Dashboard- The currently-selected asset will be displayed across a header panel near the top of the page. Directly below, in the middle of the page, are a selection of Dashboard cards providing an overview of Asset. Clicking on certain options within some of these tiles can direct the user to other modules within the platform.

5. Help and Tour- Clicking on the   icon opens a small window with options including "Help",  "Report a Problem", and "Submit an Idea", as well as "User Tour" in some instances. The "?Help" option will take users to Bentley's iTwin IoT Communities Wiki page, where articles like this have been published to help users learn the platform and guide users through common tasks. "Report a Problem" directs the user to Bentley's support ticket submission site, Service Now, where users can get in touch with Bentley's iTwin IoT support staff. The "Submit an idea" directs the user to the Communities Ideas portal, where users can suggest or vote on improvements to the iTwin IoT platform. The "User Tour", where available, starts a virtual tour explaining the function of icons on the page.

6. Toggle Full Screen- Clicking on this button allows the user to toggle full screen on and off. 

7. Profile and User Settings- Clicking on the user initials icon   allows the user to access options including "View profile", "User settings", and "Sign out". "View profile" opens a "User Management" browser tab, allowing the user to edit their profile. "User settings" opens a pop-up window allowing the user to configure visualization preferences within the Digital Twin module. "Sign out" will log the user out of the Sensemetrics application.

8. User Management- The  icon allows the user to click on the "User Management" symbol. The "User Management" tab allows organization admins to control user access.

9. Module Navigation- The left-hand navigation bar lists all of the application modules. Clicking on a Module will take the user to the Module page or open an additional selection bar that of sub-modules, or Module pages.

10. Notifications- The Notification panel provides an inbox-style option for navigating through alerts, messages, and reports.

11. Configure- Clicking the configure icon     opens the Asset Configuration page. This allows users with the proper organization and project roles to add or manage users, reality models, and iModels.
