How do I disable the ProjectWise Log in dialog box (seen below) when launching MicroStation from the Desktop shortcut?
Background
This dialog only appears if ProjectWise is installed and integrated with MicroStation. Upon opening MicroStation, the Log in dialog for ProjectWise Datasources appears. This enables users to work with files located within Projectwise. If ProjectWise integration is not required, the following steps will disable this feature. However, it is recommended you discuss with your Site Administrator before applying these changes.
Steps to Accomplish
Depending on which MicroStation version you are running, navigate to the following folder in Windows File Explorer:
CONNECT - C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\config\appl
2023 - C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation 2023\MicroStation\config\appl
Open the pw.cfg file with a text editor such as Notepad.
Remove the # symbol on line 14.
Before:
#PW_DISABLE_INTEGRATION_FROM_DESKTOP=1
After:
PW_DISABLE_INTEGRATION_FROM_DESKTOP=1
Save the .cfg file and close.
Open MicroStation and the ProjectWise Log in dialog will no longer appear.
