 Background

A settings database (file extension .db) allows you to store and re-use lists of catalogs, placement templates, ISM section creation templates, and family type creation templates.

To create a new database file for storing shared mappings settings, use the following procedure.

Note: You must have at least one shared settings database to perform any repository operation with the plug-in. If one has not been previously created or it has been deleted, you will be prompted to create a new database when an operation is initiated.

 Steps to Accomplish

  1.  Launch the Edit ISM Revit Link Shared Settings by either:
Outside of a repository operation: By selecting the Settings tool on the Bentley tab.

During a repository operation: Click Edit Shared Settings on the Match Section Mappings dialog.

  2. Select New from the dialog menu. The Create New Database dialog opens.

  3. Either:
type the file path and file name in the Database file path field
    or
click […] to open the Select ISM Revit Link Settings Database File Path dialog, which is used to name and save a file

  4. Select the measurement system in the Database profile list.

  5. (Optional) You can leave out the default family files by clearing the Read default family files option (not recommended for most models).

  6. Click OK. The new database file is created and opened in the Edit ISM Revit Link Shared Settings window.
