This describes how to import a truss designed in RAM Elements into Revit Structure using the ISM repository.
Figure 1
Vertical web elements will be imported as columns unless you set them to be braces. This can cause a problem if the vertical element does not exist in a Revit column family. An example would be if you use double angles to model the truss. There is no out-of-the-box Double Angle Column family in Revit.
Set the Brace property for the different elements to Yes.
Figure 2
Design the truss and use the Sync. ISM > Create Repository to create the new repository model.
Figure 3
All of the web elements will now be braces including the vertical web elements.
Figure 4
The repository can now be brought into Revit with the New From Repository command.
