Background

For some reasons it might be helpful to create AutoCAD Layout Views and just to add some information like Elevation and Welding Symbols in the "Paper Space" (here the Layout Frame is designed by the command "Flatten Viewport"):

Steps to Accomplish

The Keypoint is to turn the User Coordinate System (UCS) to "World"

When using the AutoCAD- or ProSteel-commands to turn the model to the requested viewdirection the UCS gets turned to "View" or "Unknown" (German: "Unbekannt"); look to the left hand corner: Z is pointing into the depth of the view:

Turn the UCS to "World" by using the UCS-commands or the View-Cube: In the scrolmenue you can choose "WCS" (German: "WKS"). The UCS should show up with Z pointing up like in the screenshot lower left corner:

Now the Elevation- and the Welding Symbols can be placed in the "paper space".  First doubleclick onto the "paper area" and choose the requested scale (here: 1:50). For Elevation Flags use the tab "Zero point" first; set "Length scale" to the Scale of the Layout View and place the Symbol by using the "Y"-button:

The Welding Symbols are as easy to place with the marked left hand button; "Scale" might remain on value 1:
