Problem Description

While converting the DWG model, created in ProSteel for AutoCAD version to DGN for ProSteel or Power ProStructure, the unexpected conversion achieved.
The proper scale does not appear. This happens due to Insertion Scale in DWG file.

Original issue description:
Hi. I have an issue importing dwg files from a previous version of Prosteel which are automatically converted

to dgn format. During the process my model is reduced in scale by a factor of exactly 1000. ie. a4100mm beam
is 4.1 units long. Can you please advise if there is an incorrect setting ?I have attached both files as an example.
You can see the tiny model at the ACS origin. Thanks, Brian Dufty

Steps to resolve

This usually happens if the Units in insertion scale in DWG file is selected wrong. If the DWG file is in Metric the unit must be in Millimeters, not in Centimeters or Meters.

For detail information follow the below steps:

  1. Open the DWG file in ProSteel for Autocad version in which you have created the model.
  2. Type in Command Line Unitsto open the Drawing Units Dialog. Change the Insertion Scale in MM.
  3. Save the model and Exit from ProSteel.
  4. Now open the same file in Power Product Version. First it will ask for Backup. Take the backup. The file will be automatically converted into DGN and then DWG to DGN conversion messege will reflect in the screen.
