Background

Problem: You want to detail some joints from your construction, e.g. foots.

Solution: You might do this by using so called “Named Joints”.

Steps to Accomplish

In order to display joints automatically via 2D Center we need ProSteel-LogLinks within the connection. These are normally created automatically e.g. for endplate connections. If it is missing you can create it by the command PS_MANUAL_LINK  (starting with the subpart, then the main part which also defines the direction of the connections display). In MicroStation Key In: Prostructure/insert/ manuallink

Then the manual LogLink has to be “named” –manually among its ProSteel properties at “Ident” and – if wanted – “Lable”.

For standard connections who got their LogLink automatically the “Ident”- field is filled by the dialog “Positioning”; see the settings:

If the fields “Label” and “Ident” aren’t displayed please look at ProSteel Options/ LogLinks and hook “Allow additional data".

Now switch to the 2D Center. On tab “Settings” mark “Scan joints”; then the named joints will be displayed on the first tab “Parts” among section “Detail Point”.

Now the “Detail Points” can be detailed regularly as any other part of the construction. Please make sure to have the joint’s detail style edited this way: Default Settings/ Partial Views/Default/ e.g. Front View, Bottom View, Isometric View 1.

If something isn’t visible please increase the Box Size at: 2D Display/ Common/ Connection Node.

Check your preview:

Just to remember: The visualization depends on the orientation of the MAINPART of the connection!!
