Problem

Sometimes there may be an already placed flat steel shape in the model and this needs to be converted into a plate. So, in the ProSteel there is a tool that can convert flat steel shape into a plate.
In this wiki, we will learn how to convert the existing Flat steel shape into a plate/Polyplate.

Solution

1. There must be flat shapes present in the model or to test this workflow place flat steel shape as shown below.

2. Now, navigate to the ‘Plates’ tool located under Home>SteelPlacement and click on the Plates tool.

3. Under the ‘Straight Plates’ tab, at the bottom, click on the seventh option ‘Convert flat steel shapes into Polyplates’ and select the shape which you want to convert.

4. You can see that this will entirely convert the existing flat shape into a Polyplate and assign respective properties to it.
