In the past, to place the plate it was necessary to set the ACS before placement of the Steel Plate. However, in the ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 6, there is a new option that has been introduced which will help users to place a plate at the desired location without setting the ACS.
In this wiki, we will learn how to place a plate without setting the ACS.
Note: This feature is introduced in ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 6. So, users using the older versions cannot see this feature.
1. Under the Steel workflow, navigate to the Home>Steel Placement>Plates.
2. This will open the plates dialog and here, under the straight plates, set the required properties for the plate.
3. Now, drop down in the property of ‘Insertion plane’ and select the option as ‘Automatic’ and select the placement method as ‘Diagonal’ insertion. (Refer to the GIF at the end for better understanding)
4. This will help you to place the plates irrespective of ACS position and can save a lot of time.
