ProSteel is now a complete structural solution for the Electrical Substation industry.

New in this edition of ProSteel is a complete structural solution for the Chinese power design institutes. Many of these institutes are already using STAAD.Pro for structural analysis and design, and Bentley Substation for electrical design. In the past, the workflow was not integrated, requiring manual data exchange. The complete solution now integrates all three major components of the workflow.

1)     Power ProStructures for structural modeling of substation structures along with connection detailing and fabrication drawings

2)     STAAD.Pro and SSDD for structural analysis and design as per Chinese design standards

3)     Bentley Substation for electrical design of substation infrastructure

Additional New Features

• ProConcrete enhancements
  • New keyin command:   “fitcurve”   This command is intended to assist in the rebar modeling process of BSpline curves. The fitcurve command takes as input any BSpline curve and reduces it to a combination of lines and arcs. Tolerances are input by the user to help in accuracy. The result is a complex chain, which can then be used to place a rebar along.
  • New keyin command:   “proconcrete copy rebarstoconcrete”   This command is intended to be used in non-parametric concrete shapes to copy (only) the rebar from one concrete shape to another.
  • New configuration variables:
    • SHIP_AS_STR_PROCESS_TYPE   Set this configuration variable to control whether bars are Ship-as-Straight bars. For the purpose of reducing fabrication costs, bars that are of sufficiently large length and/or* radius can be shipped as a straight bar and then “draped” or flexed and tied into place on site. All radii of the bar must exceed the Prefab Radius. See Help for more information.
    • TEMP_STR_LENGTHTOL_MM=##   All Straight and Ship-as-Straight bars will be rounded to the specified value during Positioning, PartList, and aSa Takeoff.
