Overview
How to add new bar sizes or modify details and data for an existing bar in the Rebar Codes
Method
1) Close the ProStructures application, if open
2) Copy the respective code, in this example, the British code RebarCode_BS8666_2005.xml located at C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Default\appl\Rebar\Codes to a local folder on your desktop
3) Now, open this copied file in Notepad and add a new rebar size along with other required information
4) Once you are done, save and close the file
5) Then, replace the original RebarCode_BS8666_2005.xml with this updated copy at location mentioned in step-2
6) Finally, start the ProStructures application again and open / create a model. Run the Key-in ‘proconcrete manage refreshcodes’
7) Followed by this, run the next Key-in ‘proconcrete regenerate allbars’
8) Now, use any of the rebar modelling tool to place this newly added bar size
