In ProStructures for AutoCAD version, the IFC export feature is not available. But there is an alternative way that can give you the IFC file for your model through Structural Synchronizer with limitations. So, in this wiki, you are going to learn how you can export your model to IFC by using Structural Synchronizer.
The quality of the IFC file would not be the best if you export it through Structural Synchronizer. The exported IFC file does not contains the following things.
- The modifications like cuts, polycuts and holes in the shapes and plates.
- Some elements like bolts and railing objects in the model would not be fully exported.
- Plates that are created by connection tools like Endplate, Baseplate, Web Angle, Stiffener etc.
Please ensure that you have installed the correct compatible Structural Synchronizer version in your system w.r.t. your ProStructures for AutoCAD version. To verify this, kindly follow the below wiki

Please follow the below steps to achieve this.
1. Open your model and click on the Create ISM Repository button located at ProSteel > ISM > Create ISM Repository or from ProStructures Menu > ISM > Create Repository or type PS_EXPORTISM and hit enter.
2. Now, give your required ISM file name and select Save button.
3. Select the OK button in ProStructure ISM Transformation Setting dialog.
4. Now, Structural Synchronizer get opens with your model.
5. In Structural Synchronizer, under the Objects section, click on the Select All and then on the Accept button.
6. Under the Properties section, again click on the Select All and Accept button. Then click on the Update button.
7. Commit Message dialog will appear, here give your required comment or leave it as it is and click on the OK button. Once you click OK, Structural Synchronizer application get closed and your file will be saved.
8. In ProStructures, the Data Export dialog will appear, and it says, “Data was exported successfully!”.
9. Now, open the exported *.Ism.Dgn file in Structural Synchronizer and go to File > IFC Exchange > Export IFC.
10. Now, give your required IFC file name and select Save button.
11. ISM-IFC Exchange Is in Progress dialog opens, now click on the Close button to complete this operation.
In this way, one can export to IFC through Structural Synchronizer in ProStructures for AutoCAD.
