This is not always like one needs to store their DGN's to Root directory under Workset. Usually the default location is
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<Workspace name>\WorkSets\<WorkSetName>\Dgn
But in ProStructures configuration architecture you have much flexibility to define your folder location,it may be DGN'slocation, WorkSet location,WorkSpace Location etc. You can call folders from different location by defining theconfiguration.
This document will explain how you can define your DGN location other than Default location.
This can be done in two ways.
1. While creating the Custom Workset:
When you are creating any custom Workset, ProStructures will allow you to define custom location other than default location.
In the above example created one custom Workset named "CustomWorkSet" of which Design Files location is other than the Root location. Similarly, changed the Standard files location to Custom location.
And then after creating this WorkSet, when you create a new DGN file, it will be saved to this location. In the below image you can see the new DGN file is storing to location specified in the Configuration.
So, in this way you can define the custom location while creating the WorkSet.
2. After creating WorkSet (which is set as per the default configuration),how to change the DGN container
There might be second scenario where you have already created the WorkSet taking the default template and then you thought to change the DGN container. In that case you need to change the path in the particular WorkSet.cfg file.
- With the creation of WorkSet, a WorkSet.cfg file is created in same name in Root folder location. In this case it is created in
"C:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\USA_Canada_Imperial\WorkSets"
- Open this file in Notepad and change the path for the variable "_USTN_WORKSETDGNS".
