Overview

When working in model and model size is large enough, then sometimes model size get increased due to creation of many more text styles, dimension styles, text elements, item types etc.which may not be used no longer and can be deleted. Inthat case it is very tedious job to delete manually each and every elements. To do that task We have Compress tool which can automatically detect all the unused dimension style, text styles, text elements etc to make the model optimized. This document will explain how the model can be compressed using Compress tool.

Method

Please follow the below steps to do that.

1. Go to Backstage under file and go to File > Tools and then first go to Compress option to select which elements you want to compress. Following picture illustrates this.

2. Click on the Compress button and the program will automatically compress all your selected items.

  

This way you can compress large DGN file to get the file size less.
