Overview

Sometimes, it is necessary to detect the changes done in the model or actions performed in the model. So, for this purpose there is a dedicated feature known as Design History. So, here are some steps which explains this feature and how it works.

Method

1. Here, to create one model for example, placed three beams / Shapes.

2. Go to Design History and click on Initialize under Drawing Workflow > Utilities > Design History > Initialize. This initialize option will start to initialize the design history.

3. After initialize design history, following dialogue will appear. Put a name as “A”

4. Then after the naming, open the tags dialogue to assign the tag value to the corresponding element as shown in the image below.

5. Now make some changes in the drawing such as add or copy an element and then the Commit option will activate and then commit this change as B and tag a value as “copied” to that committed change. Follow the steps as shown below.

Here we can see the copied action is visible in the dialogue above.

6. Follow the same procedure for every change made in the model and the Tag index will appear like this.

7. Now after committing all the changes and assigning the tags, save the file and open the Design History to see all the updates.

8. Here the Design History will appear and in the history index, when you click on any committed action, that action or that part will be highlighted in the model.

In such a way Design History will help user to detect the changes done in the model.
