Overview

Sometime it might be needed that whatever single parts in the model to be converted to Groups. Typically Single parts is single and it should not fall under Groups. But if someone wants to convert those Single parts to Groups, this can be done using Groups command. This document will explain how one can convert the Single parts to Groups.

Method

To explain this lets take the following example where we have some beams and columns without any connections. So usually all these are Single parts. And here we will explain how these Single parts can be converted to Groups.

Following steps to be followed:

1. Go to Administrative Groups Command by navigating under Steel Workflow, Home > Classification > Groups

2. Ensure in Detail Center all the parts are in Single Parts or not.

3. Open Group tool and navigate to Verify tab and click on  (Create one Group out each selected orphan object)

4. Then it will ask you to select the elements or parts which you ant to convert to Groups.

5. After selection done you will get the following message and say ok.

6. It will then convert all the Single Parts to groups and that can be tested in Detail center like below

In this way you can can convert multiple single parts into groups.
