Overview

When a connection between two elements is created using Automatic Connection tools, it creates a logical link. However, if an element is created manually and then grouped to another, there is no logical link created between them

This document will guide on how to manually create a logical link

Scenario

A column which got a Baseplate and a Gusset plate. The baseplate was created using an automatic connection. While the gusset plate was created manually. See the screenshot below only showing a logical link between the baseplate and the column

Steps to Accomplish

1) In the ProSteel Options, make sure you enable ‘Allow Additional Data’ in the ‘Loglinks’ section

2) Launch the ‘Add Manual Link’ tool

3) Then first select the connected part of the Manual Link that is the gusset plate in this case

4) Now after this, select the Main part of the Manual Link, which is the column

5) The Manual Link has now been added and to check it, go into the shape properties and you should see additional logical links added
