Overview

When modeling multiple layers of beam reinforcements, sometimes the additional reinforcements are not continuous and may not need to be spliced. This document will guide you on how to create lap splices independently for these reinforcements.

Method

1. Go to Structural Properties of the beam reinforcement. Head over to Lap Options tab. From here, you may define lap splices on the beams by selecting the desired Rebar Location.

2. For the example shown above, multiple layers are placed in the bottom. To independently create lap splices among these layers, you need to uncheck the All Rebar Levels option. By doing this, selection of Rebar Level is now active.

3. By selecting the desired rebars, you may now define lap splices on main beam reinforcements independently by Automatic or Manual Lap for each Rebar Location or Levels.
