When there are similar shapes with similar geometry in multiple locations and need to have same modifications as, drill, cuts etc. it is very tedious job to perform these operations in each part. However, this can be done by using ProSteel Copy/Move/Mirror/Align command. This document will explain how to copy holes and other modifications from one part to another part.
To explain this let us start with two plates and will show copying holes from one plate to another plate. Prerequisites of this operation is that both the plates should have same position number. This will not work for different position number. Please follow the below steps to achieve this.
1. Place two identical plates at some distance apart as shown in below figure. Make drill in one plate.
2. Go to the PS Properties and make positioning of both the plates (Plate A & B) as same Pos. No.
3. Go to Steel > Home > Edit Steel Elements > Copy/Move/Mirror/Align tool.
4. Go to Transfer Modification tab and check the Holes box and click on first button.
5. Now, select the plate in which hole are already present then select other plate in which hole need to be copied. The result will look like as shown in below figure.
6. If you want to move the hole from their own position to different location, do the following steps shown in below figure.
7. Go to PS Properties and then go to Modifications > Holes and click on first button to resolve holes as Single drill.
8. By clicking on this, the hole group will now split into single drill and you can even move by dragging to your required location.
9. As you can see in the below image, you can now move the holes by picking up the point and dragging it wherever you want.
In this way modifications can be copied in similar objects and manipulated as per user’s choice.
