When modeling for reinforcements, there are instances that you may need have associative face extractions along skewed concrete components such as bridge decks, abutments, retaining walls and other similar structures.
Therefore, this document will guide you on how to create and orient these extractions along a skewed element.
1. Access the Associative Extraction under Modeling workflow > Solids > Solid Utilities.
2. On the Associative Extraction dialog, select the Faces option and check both Move New Face / Edge and Keep Associated options.
3. Select the required Parametric Solid. Then, the program will prompt you to select the required face of the solid to extract and click a Data point to accept.
4. The program will then prompt you to select a basepoint of the translation. Use the Accudraw to translate the faces on skew. Issue an "R" to open the Accudraw options and select Rotate to Element.
In this way, you may now create associative face extractions from parametric solids along a skewed element or anywhere required regardless of complexity.
