Overview

When generating 2D drawings, either of steel structures by the 2D Detail Center or by Section Callout for concrete elements you may need to place those inside a drawing border frame for printing the sheets and sending to the site. Inorder to attach the border frames, you can do this by the ‘Drawing Border’ tool.

This document will guide you on how to insert a drawing border frame around your 2D drawing in the model.

Method

1) Select an appropriate view and place your 2D drawing in the model.

2) After this, navigate to Home > Drawing Production > Drawing Border

3) This will then open the ‘Drawing Templates’ dialog box where you need to choose the sheet size that want the border frame for.

Also, you can set the scale of the frame and choose for Active Limits (When checked, the drawing limits are put on the edge of the border to avoid drawing outside of the border.)
Then click on the ‘Load’ button.

4) This will then attach the border frame as a scaled cell in your drawing model.

In this manner, you can attach a drawing border frame to your drawing model.
