How to create Customized Elevation Flag Symbols
1) Open a new file in ProStructures. Set the view to TOP and create any desired symbol for the Elevation Flag with Lines, Arcs, Circles and Text only
2) Add to it the attributes with the tags "VP" for elevation value, “DP1” for Definition point and "N1" & "N2" for Notes 1&2
3) The attribute must not be mirrored and should be in the positive area of both axes, so that the lowest point of the graphics is at 0",0" in ACS of the model
4) Save the symbol with the tags/attributes in the "ElevationflagStyles" folder which is located by default at –
C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\ProStructures\Default\appl\ElevationFlags\Metric
5) Once the flag symbol is created, open the ProSteel Elevation Symbol dialog box from the tool bar
6) From the ProSteel Elevation Symbol dialog box, go to the “Layout tab” > click on the fodder icon in front of the Cell Path to map to the location folder of the symbol -
(...ProStructures\Default\appl\ElevationFlags\Metric)
7) Enable the option “Cell Geometry” and select the newly created block from the Cell Geometry drop down
You can then place the new customized Elevation Flag in your model and display the same in your 2D drawings
