When trying to see the preview of drawing, getting Error message saying "Requesting preview is empty"
It is always a good practice to classify elements into specific category while modeling, the elements can be classified in different classification. In ProSteel, user have option to classify in different category like
1. Display Class
2. Area Class
3. Part family Class
4. Description.
Description file cannot be accessed directly from the application. One can access Description file either by going to ProSteel Options or directly browsing the ProStructures folders. Usually Description file located in
1. CONNECT Edition - <Drive>:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\<Your Workspace>\Standards\ProStructures\Data, and the file name is "pro_st3d.fdt"
2. V8i Poer ProStructures - <Drive>:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures V8i S8\WorkSpace\ProStructures\Localized\<Your Localisation>\Data and the file name is "pro_st3d.fdf"
So within these 4 classifications, Description class is the most important as almost all user use this one to classify their objects in model.
And after modeling, when user go for Drawing production, to represent their drawing in different lines, colors, Description classes can be used to create separate Object Groups for display.
So in Detail Style under 2D Display > Views > Object Display, you can create different groups and those groups yoi can call the Description of Elements to display those elements in different way.
So in any case if Correct Description file is missing then Detail Style will not identify elements and cannot display the View in Drawing Block.
